Welcome to Messing Village Hall website.

Messing Village Hall was fully refurbished in 2011 and has proved popular with local residents, companies and groups. A wide range of activities take place in the hall, including yoga and fitness classes, drama and art classes, company training days, and receptions and family parties.

Do have a look at our Regular Hirers listing for an idea of currently running classes. For news of upcoming events see the News page

The Hall is located opposite the church in the centre of Messing. The nearest station is at Kelvedon and there is easy access to the A12. There is a map showing the hall location on the contacts page.

Can you help

Messing Village Hall is a charity and a separate entity from Messing Parish Council. It is run by a Management Committee whose members act as Trustees and are governed by the provisions of The Deed of Trust of 1951.

The Hall has no independent endowment or source of income other than that derived from hiring fees. The expenses of running the Hall, including routine maintenance and repairs to the structure of the property, have to be paid for solely from these and any grants that can be obtained.

For over 100 years, generations of Messing residents have voluntarily given their time to help manage and maintain the Hall, so that it is available for all of us to enjoy today. In order to ensure that it continues to be available for future generations, we need volunteers from our current community. Can you help?

If you would like to find out more, please contact the Chair of the Committee, currently Mary Mann, on 01621 810706 or email marypmann@gmail.com

The current Trustees are:-

Mary Mann (Chair)

Justina Rhodes (Treasurer)

Steve Smith (Secretary and Hiring Manager)

Andrew Lucas (Building Manager)

Bob Suckling (Parish Council representative)

Sarah Harding

Other Volunteers

The Management Committee is always grateful to have people willing to help out from time to time. If you would like to put your name forward to be available to help out on these occasions, please contact one of the Committee members listed above.
